Talk: President Dieter F. Uchtdorf - Second Counselor in the First presidency

• 65 years ago, he remembers the acts of love and the shipment of blankets and food  following WWII.
• Welfare not just a branch of the tree, but at the very root
• If you impart not of the bounty the Lord has given us, you will get cast to hell with the wicked.
• All laws are spiritual, temporal just as important.  We lose out if our hands are not lifted in the service of others
• Spiritual progress is bound to our service to others.
• This is not a program of give me, it is a program of self help.  The stake members grew
• from the experience of pitching in and rebuilding the AZ town after the flood.
• Welfare is revealed truth, the Lords way of providing for his saints
  • 1 - Care for the needy
  • 2 - ??
  • 3 - Self reliance
• Study the Lords way, then figure it out out for yourself
• Draw out thy heart to the needy, and the Lord shall guide thee.
• IT is our privilege to put the priesthood to work, the temporal is intertwined with the spiritual.
