April 2015: Elder Sitati - Be Fruitful, Multiply and Subdue the Earth

Developing the ability to subdue the things of the earth begins with humility to recognize our human weakness and the power available to us through Christ and His Atonement. For “Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.” This power becomes available to us as we choose to act in obedience to His commandments. We increase our ability by seeking the gifts of the Spirit and by developing our talents.

April 2015: Elder Anderson - The Kingdom Come

Can you see the hand of God moving His work forward? Can you see the hand of God in the lives of the missionaries in Haiti or the Kaivaivatanas in Thailand? Can you see the hand of God in the lives of the Assards and the Affoues? Can you see the hand of God in your own life?

April 2015: Elder Clayton - Choose to Believe

Every day each of us faces a test. It is the test of our lifetimes: will we choose to believe in Him and allow the light of His gospel to grow within us, or will we refuse to believe and insist on traveling alone in the dark? The Savior provides His gospel as a light to guide those who choose to believe in and follow Him.

Conference is Here!

Welcome to the 184th Annual General Conference.  Welcome to the 4th year of LDSConfNotes. I am excited for this time of year.  Kind of like another New Year, where we get to hear and heed the counsel of the Prophets, Apostles and Special Servants called for today's time.

May our hearts be open so that it can will be filled with the Spirit. May we follow the counsel given so that we can will be blessed. May we be able to take the best collaborative notes so that we may quickly reference the principles the speaker is conveying for our benefit now and in the future.

The notes from the sessions can be found here. Thanks for coming and have a great General Conference.

Saturday AM Session

Ah Saturday Morning Session the beginning of the next 8 to 10 hours where members of the church will listening to counsel from our beloved church leaders.

Care to share how you prepared yourself for this weekend? How about a go to breakfast recipe for the weekend? Are the kiddies taken care of? If not, here or here are great resources. Any guesses on the new temple locations?

The notes are now live. Before going into the notes please review the guidelines.  From there you can enter into the notes. Sisters, if you have any notes/thoughts you wish to share from the Relief Society Session, please do so in the assigned notes document.

As always thanks for coming. Welcome if you are new.  If you have any feedback please provide it here (yes i am obsessed with putting links together with the word "here"), or through the link on the notes.

183rd Semiannual General Conference

"From the crossroads of the West..." Wait that is Music and the Spoken Word.
"From the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah..."  There that is better.

Wow another six months has come and gone and we find ourselves ready to hear the wonderful words from our Prophet and other beloved church leaders.  What great anticipation for me, and hopefully for you, to have this weekend finally here.

It is great to be back here at the blog and Google Drive documents. It is amazing to me that this little project started four and a half years ago. For those that are new to this site, WELCOME!  I am glad you found it. For a little bit of history on this site/blog you can read up on it here.

These past three to four weeks I have been taking advantage of my morning commute on the bus to read all the talks in conference before today's first session. I am proud to say I was able to complete the task and am reinvigorated to receive the counsel from the church leaders.

May our "dibbed" spot be available, may the Spirit be present, and may our ears, minds and hearts be open to the counsel so that we might know of our Heavenly Father's desire for us, His children, at this time and for the next six months.

What did we miss? What can you add?

Well the 183rd Annual General Conference has come to a close.

What wonderful words have been shared; what wonderful music has been sung. It has been wonderful to hear these words.

I hope that these notes can be used to supplement until the they are available online and then the Ensign.

Please take time to further the usefulness of the notes by adding scripture references or any other references.

Use the links to the right to access any of the docs.

Sunday AM Session

Welcome, Welcome, Sunday Morning. Time to take Collaborative notes. Welcome, Welcome, is the calling. To come and join us taking notes.

Yesterday we were fed with great words of wisdom.  Wonderful reminders of how we should be as children of our Heavenly Father.

Sunday AM Session Notes are now available through here.

Children Packets are available through the LDS.org, or sugardoodle.net has some other ideas.

Please do not delete what others have written in the notes. Part of my vision for the notes is to add personal, related, insight or cross-referencing links, using the italics formatting.  If there is something you wish to remove, first save a copy to your own Google Drive Account (File --> Save a Copy).  I would recommend doing this at the end of the session, or come back a few days when all the editing has been completed.

Most importantly, may our hearts be open and soften to hear what our Heavenly Father's servants have prepared to teach us. Let us remember.

38 What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.
- Doctrine & Covenants 1:38

Sunday AM

Time for another opportunity to take conference notes one with another.

To help take notes please click here. There is a max of 50 people that can be on. If you don’t get in at first and would like to help please keep trying. People filter in and out.
Please reference previous sessions to see how the notes are organized.
Due to the max number please remember to be courteous and allow all to participate. As more than one person might feel a phrase/thought is important at the same time duplication could be a problem. As this cannot be controlled if someone else is writing the same item which you were going to write, who ever started first wins. Please feel free to add any additional points following. Any cross references or other insight are encouraged. Put any personal thoughts should be indented and in italics. If you have any questions please us the chat window on the right.
Editing will be available for a time period after all sessions, please come back and add anything that was missed.
If you could also at sometime take the survey to provide honest feedback.

Help out

Watch with a five minute delay here.

General Conference Traditions: Breakfast

With General Conference so close it, now is the time to prepare both spiritually and physically.  As a means to prepare physically, what is your traditional breakfast like conference morning? If you have a recipe to share, please do!

It is important to be fed physically so that we can focus on being fed spiritually.

What They Said - President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

The Merciful Obtain Mercy

  • Growing Concern of all members and even the world
  • Virtue of the word of God has more effect than anything else
  • Cain was the first to have envy and hate, murdering his own brother.
  • Everyone has been touched by the effect of contention,... , revenge
  • It is easy to judge others in order to justify our dark motives
  • We all depend on the Savior, his infinite eternal Atonement
