187 Semiannual General Conference

187 Semiannual General Conference.  Didn't we just do this?  How amazing it is to get this opportunity to listen to the voice of our leaders.  With all the events happening around the world I feel an additional need for their messages.

Unfortunately, I will not be in a location with internet access to contribute this time.  If you feel inclined to contribute, thank you.  If not I will still be making my own notes to add later.

187th Annual General Conference

Well here we go again.  Spring has sprung and the 187th Annual General Conference is here. What thoughts have you had as this time approached? What ways have you prepared? What past talks have you turned to for comfort these past months?

I find it interesting how I need General Conference.  There is something more that I get hearing the words from those called to lead and serve this church.  But the only way I get the most is from preparing ahead of time.  May we take what is spoken and apply the principles our Father has inspired those who speak in our lives to continue forward.

186 Semi-Annual General Conference

Welcome to the 186th Semi-Annual General Conference Session. Due to health issues at the beginning of this year, I was unable to provide this service in April.  I apologize for being MIA (I am really horrible at social network). I, however, didn't want this project to stop and am back ready for this round of conference sessions.

Conference has always been an integral part of my life and I believe taking notes allows us the opportunity to embed key principles and thoughts into our minds and hearts for everyday life. I pray that through these next two days we can take the time to truly hear the words which our called leaders have prepared for us. If you are unavailable to listen during the live broadcast, I hope these notes can provide enough context until the videos/transcriptions are available on lds.org

April 2015: Elder Sitati - Be Fruitful, Multiply and Subdue the Earth

Developing the ability to subdue the things of the earth begins with humility to recognize our human weakness and the power available to us through Christ and His Atonement. For “Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.” This power becomes available to us as we choose to act in obedience to His commandments. We increase our ability by seeking the gifts of the Spirit and by developing our talents.

April 2015: Elder Anderson - The Kingdom Come

Can you see the hand of God moving His work forward? Can you see the hand of God in the lives of the missionaries in Haiti or the Kaivaivatanas in Thailand? Can you see the hand of God in the lives of the Assards and the Affoues? Can you see the hand of God in your own life?

April 2015: Elder Clayton - Choose to Believe

Every day each of us faces a test. It is the test of our lifetimes: will we choose to believe in Him and allow the light of His gospel to grow within us, or will we refuse to believe and insist on traveling alone in the dark? The Savior provides His gospel as a light to guide those who choose to believe in and follow Him.

April 2015: Pres. Monson - Blessing of the Temple

"As we enter through the doors of the temple, we leave behind us the distractions and confusion of the world. Inside this sacred sanctuary, we find beauty and order. There is rest for our souls and a respite from the cares of our lives."
